Within the visit to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela bilateral consultations between delegations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Ministry of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela took place in Caracas on March7-8.

Following the results of the meeting the Protocol was signed by Alan Kochiev, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of South Ossetia, and Ivan Gil, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela for Relations with Europe. The signed document confirms the reiterated necessity of strengthening friendly ties and cooperation in spheres of culture, education, ecology and tourism. Alongside with this the Parties agreed to sign the Agreement on visa-free relations between the states within thirty days. Intentions of the Parties to continue work on all points of the bilateral agenda for expanding cooperation between the two states and for considering signing of agreements that would allow to enhance experience and information exchange between the Governments was also reflected in the document.
